A haunted mausoleum just outside of Spring Hill has been filled with bodies, blood and the occasional zombie, and its ready for guests who need a good scare.

The Circus of Screams is filled with nightmarish clowns. It's what you'd expect to find in a horror film or in this case at Miller's Thriller's Haunted Woods on Carters Creek Pike.

The attraction is the brain child of David Miller. He grew up on the farm selling pumpkins and graduated with an accounting degree, building and managing a haunted woods was the furthest thing from his mind until he noticed there was a market for it in the area.

"First year we didn't know what we were doing," Miller said. "We went to Walmart and bought a bunch of stuff just to scare people."

He teamed up with Michael Oakley, who he met at the Spring Hill Country Ham Festival nearly a decade ago. Oakley had a background in haunted attractions and used to be an entertainer with the performing group "Stomp".

With his help every year the haunted woods got bigger and scarier. One of the prized attractions is the zombie paintball hay ride, complete with a military style, zombie killer truck.

Now, thousands of people visit these woods every Friday and Saturday during the month of October. While it is very family friendly parents should think twice before taking young children on the haunted hike through the woods. Children as young as 5 can participate in the zombie paintball hay ride.

A line begins to form around 6:30, the attraction opens at 7 p.m. and is located at 1431 Carters Creek Pike Columbia, TN 38401.
