Police Asking For Help Solving Angela Stovall Murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have asked for help to solve a murder at a vacant home in North Nashville. A man remodeling the house found a body in the crawl space.

Police need to talk with anyone who saw the woman the day she was killed.

It was 8:30 a.m. when a man working on a house in North Nashville discovered the woman's body. She was laying at the bottom of a stairway that led to the crawl space under the house.

Police collected evidence at the murder scene at 1814 15th Avenue North.

"We started canvassing the area and just talked to people who were basically up and down 15th Avenue in the alley, 14th, up Buchanan," said James Davis with the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Davis said the victim was 32-year-old Angela Stovall. Detectives said she lived on the streets. She had five children who live with relatives.

"She had an unfortunate drug habit, but from the people who knew her - just an outgoing person, somebody that would do anything to help somebody else out," said Davis.

Police believe something happened prior to the murder that can help them solve the case.

"Obviously somebody out there knows something the case. Somebody heard something that went on that alley behind the house," said Davis.

When Angie Stovall was killed she was wearing a blue jacket and green Capri style pants. Anyone with information about her death should call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

The information you give may be worth up to $1,000s.
