Police Need Help Solving Nightclub Murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Firm nightclub last May. Police are searching for any clues that could help solve the murder.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 to anyone who can provide information about the killers.

Police expect nearly a dozens of people could have witnessed the shooting.

"The shooting happened over in this area after the bar had let out," said Metro police officer Joe Williams.

Police said Brandon Muhammad walked out of the Firm Nightclub at 820 Palmer Place around 3:00 a.m. on Friday May 2.

Muhammad had argued with another person inside the club.

"We believe there was an exchange of gunfire. Right now, we're still investigating if it was self defense or was it a purposeful shooting," said Williams.

Police said Muhammad was hit by several bullets. He jumped into a silver car, which took him to a hospital where he later died.

Witnesses said the shooters sped away in another car.

"I think it was a Chrysler 300 that was leaving the scene at a high rate of speed along with a white vehicle," said Williams.

Police are hoping more witnesses will come forward about the murder.

"That night it was completely packed full of young men and women and their cars. We had an exchange of multiple gunfire, so any of these patrons could have been shot at this point," said Williams.

Several cars were damaged by flying bullets and sustained a lot of damage. Police said the crowd was lucky not to get hit with flying bullets.
