NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Sahel Kazemi's family spoke out about the deaths of McNair and Sahel and their relationship. Her nephew does not believe she shot McNair and then turned the gun on herself.
Kazemi's nephew, Farzin Abdi, was at the Cherry Creek Apartments in Hermitage to collect personal items from her apartment on Tuesday.
"Being here is like being in hell right now," said Abdi.
Abdi's trip to Nashville is much different than the last. In May, he and his mother came to the Music City to visit his aunt - Sahel Kazemi on her birthday and meet her new boyfriend Steve McNair. Abdi said Kazemi was in love.
"The thing about it, she was like ‘hey I'm not trying to use him and stuff, but that's what he likes about me, because I pay for my own stuff' and he was always telling her that you're different than other girls I've been dating. They don't, I mean you don't want to use me and stuff, and she was pretty happy with it," said Abdi.
For her birthday she got the Cadillac Escalade. Police said the car was purchased in both her name and McNair's. Abdi said he was concerned about the pair's age difference.
"Like you're not at the same level as McNair is. The age is so different and his level and our level were not on the same page, so you should come back you know," said Abdi.
Abdi tried to talk Kazemi into moving back to Jacksonville.
"Sometimes you have to let them go, but you don't want them to go like this," said Abdi.
On Saturday Kazemi's family in Jacksonville was getting ready to go watch fireworks.
"My mom, she started screaming. She came and said she saw McNair on a Yahoo page that he got shot several times and there's an unidentified woman which we didn't know and we started panicking," said Abdi.
They called her phone, but got no answer. Then police called Saturday night to confirm the death.
Abdi said he regretted not being able to talk Kazemi into moving back to Florida.
"I'm so glad that I brought my mom here last month, that she could see her for the last time, and I told her how much I love her so I don't worry about that," said Abdi.
Her nephew said Kazemi was the baby of the family. She was never depressed and always happy. He doesn't believe she could kill anyone especially someone she loved like McNair.
Abdi said she does not even know how to use a gun. Kazemi's funeral is Friday in Jacksonville.
