NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Due to the state's high unemployment many adults were going after the jobs that teens traditionally fill. In School Patrol, a few students were guaranteed work thanks to the President.
State Senator Thelma Harper told the students, the opportunity to work this summer and receive a paycheck was all thanks to the President's Stimulus package.
Kenny Gaines was one young man that was selected for the program. This was the second year that Kenny has been a Goodwill summer employee.
Gaines worked on creating signs for the Goodwill like the kind displayed at every Goodwill outlet.
Debbie Grant with Goodwill said the program prepares the students for life in the real world.
Many of the students who are working through Goodwill, found out about the positions through a job fair.
