Police Search For Suspect That Dragged Man 1,000 Feet

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information to find a man that drove a pickup truck on Dickerson Road and purposely ran over a man.

The hit and run happened around 7:30 p.m. on June 19.

"The 1800 block of Dickerson Pike is a very busy part of Nashville. It's a business area where there are a lot of witnesses," said Brian Brown, Metro Police Department.

Police said an intoxicated man entered a market on Dickerson Pike and tried to buy more alcohol. The clerk refused to sell it to him.

The man left the store and entered the parking lot where he got into an argument with another man.

"The victim was an innocent person standing there when this individual got into his truck and intentionally drove at this victim, striking him and pinning him up against another vehicle," said Brown.

Then the driver took off down Dickerson Road. The victim was pinned under the truck - wedged inside a wheel well.

Police said the driver dragged the victim more than 1,000 feet down the road.

"He suffered permanent injuries during this incident," said Brown.

Witnesses told police the suspect appeared to be driving a white 1980's style Chevy or GMC pickup truck. The pickup had a yellow stripe.
