Local School Teams Up With YMCA For Swimming Season

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In School Patrol: the Harding Place YMCA and a local high school have joined together to give local kids a new place to cool off this summer.

In February of this year the pool at Glen Cliff High School was closed due to lack of funding. The Harding Place YMCA and Glen Cliff formed a partnership.

The children come from not only the Harding Place Y, but also a South Nashville neighborhood.

The pool is open to all of the children, but their skill level has to be tested first. Those who do not pass the test must swim with a life jacket on.

Regardless of their skill level the pool is protected by eagle-eyed lifeguards. Several of them are Glen Cliff students who were trained by the Y.

The Y and Glen Cliff are also hoping to attract senior citizens in the area, to the newly reopened pool.
