Robbers in Williamson County Get Caught Behind Masks

Posted:

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Robbers hid behind Halloween masks, but they forgot about security cameras in the store where they bought the masks. Police hope the public can help them identify the robbers.

Fatima Zaragoza felt safe working in her family's market until last week.

"I was in shock. I really didn't feel like I was there," said Zaragoza.

Two men in Halloween masks held her up. One had a large knife and the other a sawed off shotgun.

"At first I thought it was a joke that somebody was playing on me," said Zaragoza.

This was no laughing matter when the men demanded cash from the register.

"I was opening the cash register, and at the same time I was pushing the emergency button," said Zaragoza. "You don't know if they're going to harm you or just leave you there."

At a CVS Pharmacy 15 minutes earlier, the robbers purchased the masks and latex gloves used in the robbery. They were caught on tape.

"What you see here is the suspects here just driving up in a vehicle," said Charlie Warner, Franklin Police Department.

Franklin police have very clear video of the men walking into the store.

"Someone out there knows who these people are," said Warner.

The men were not in the store very long. When they leave, one carried the shopping bag containing the masks and the latex gloves.

"We've got good pictures of their faces and everything, so hopefully they'll be found soon so we can feel safer," said Warner.

Police said the clerk did the right thing.

"Her quick thinking in complying with the robbers' instructions as well as activating the alarm that was there at the store, prevented this from going any further," said Zaragoza.

Franklin police said the suspects may have fled in a green boxy vehicle similar to a Volkswagen Jetta. If you have information call Franklin police.
