Shooting Leaves Man Dead In North Nashville

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police said the victim, 27-year-old Demetrieis Riley, got into some sort of an argument at an apartment complex near Spears Road and Richmond Hills in North Nashville.

Riley and a friend were walking along Richmond Hill Drive when two men came up behind them and opened fire on the afternoon of October 8, 2009. He was dead when police arrived.

"Looks like one man shot him several times and he fell to the ground. Another man walked over, shot him again to finish the job and two men fled on foot back up Spears Drive," said North Precinct Detective Jim Fuqua.

Investigators said the suspects had on white t-shirts and dreadlocks and are especially concerned because of the proximity to the school.

Metro police believe North Nashville murder suspects targeted Riley.

Police are also aware that because of a possible gang connection people may be hesitant to come forward with information, but you can help and remain anonymous through Crime Stoppers.

If you can help police with the case call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. You can also text Crime Stoppers anonymously, text the word CASH and your message to CRIMES.
