RECIPE # 4384 - DUTCH APPLE PUMPKIN CRISP - Tuesday, October 13, 2009
DAISY KING / MISS DAISY'S KITCHEN
1 1/2 c chopped, peeled apples 3/4 c all-purpose flour 3/4 c packed brown sugar 1/4 c butter, softened 1/4 t pumpkin pie spice 1 c canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix) 1/3 c granulated sugar 1/4 cup whole milk 2 T all -purpose flour 1/2 t pumpkin pie spice 1 egg Whipped cream or ice cream, if desired
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread apples over bottom of 9-inch glass pie plate. Microwave uncovered on High 4-6 minutes or until apples or crisp/tender. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, toss 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, butterand 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice until crumbly , set aside. In a medium bowl, beat remaining ingredients except whipped cream with wire whisk until smooth. Pour over apples. Sprinkle with crumbly flour mixture. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and set. Cool 15-minutes and serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
