Police Need Help To Solve Poker Party Homicide

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Crime Stoppers is trying to help solve the murder of a man at a poker party. The man was shot to death as he tried to scare off an armed robber.

Officials said Jack Diamond liked to throw poker parties at his home on Old Hickory Boulevard in South Nashville.

Diamond was throwing one of his parties on September 10. As one of his guests arrived around 11:38 p.m., a masked robber appeared and approached that guest.

"The victim looked on his video surveillance system and saw his friend being robbed outside," said Corey Wall with the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Diamond grabbed his gun and headed for the door. He fired a warning shot in the air to scare off the robber. The suspect turned and pointed his rifle at Diamond and fired several shots before running off.

Diamond died right there in his doorway.

"It's important to get the killer off the street, because he went from a crime of a robbery in which he was getting full cooperation to a murder in the blink of an eye," said Wall.

Anyone with information about the murder of Jack Diamond should contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
