Police Search For Clues In North Nashville Murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In Crime Stoppers, Metro police need help to find two men who they believe murdered an acquaintance. The man was shot to death in North Nashville in a possible drug related robbery.

Police said on October 1, 2009 around 10:30 p.m. Michael Anthony Jones pulled in next to his house in the 2200 block of 14th Avenue North and went inside.

"Witnesses said they heard voices like a small argument and then after that heard gunshots fired," said North Precinct Detective Billy Jackson.

Jones was shot multiple times and collapsed and died before police arrived.

"Other witnesses observed who they thought to be two male blacks running from the scene of the crime after these shots were fired," said Jackson.

Investigators also believe the suspects may have ridden with Jones to his house, and would like anyone who may have seen someone in his car to call Crime Stoppers.
