NewsChannel 5 Investigates:

Five Years in a Row!

NewsChannel 5 Investigates has been recognized with the Emmy Award for investigative reporting for the fifth straight year.

The investigative team was awarded two other Emmys. NewsChannel 5 received a total of 14 Emmys -- more than any other station -- including the award for overall News Excellence.

In the Investigative Report category, the Emmy Award went to "NewsChannel 5 Investigates: General Sessions Court."

That investigation of misconduct within the court system was the work of chief investigative reporter Phil Williams, producer/photojournalist Bryan Staples and producer Kevin Wisniewski.

Another Emmy recognized "Phil Williams Investigates," a compilation of investigative reports by Williams and Staples, for Journalistic Enterprise.

In the General Assignment Report category, "A Lost Call for Justice" received the Emmy.

That investigation, which raised questions about a homicide investigation, was the work of investigative reporter Ben Hall, producer/photojournalist Iain Montgomery and Wisniewski.
