Prosecutor Moving Forward With Charges Against Detective

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Rutherford County Sheriff's detective Ron Killings learned Friday that Special Prosecutor Joe Baugh will go ahead with charges against him.

Baugh will pursue tampering with evidence and filing a false report charges in a May 17 court date. Pretrial will be May 7.

The charges are related to the July 2008 incident when Killings hit and killed 11-year-old Lakeisha White with his unmarked squad car while responding to a call for help from another officer

Killings was acquitted in February of voluntary manslaughter charges in the death of White.
