RECIPE # 4480 - COMPANY MEATLOAF - Tuesday, June 8, 2010



1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/4 lb  sausage
2 eggs
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 t salt   
1/2 t black pepper
pinch sage
dash garlic powder
1 c bread crumbs
1 c grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 c onion, minced
1/4 c celery, chopped
1/4 c red pepper, chopped
1 16-oz can diced tomatoes, drained
Assemble all ingredients and utensils. Mix all loaf ingredients together. Form loaf and bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes or until almost done. While loaf is baking, mix topping ingredients.
1/4 c tomato ketchup
1/2 t dry mustard
1/8 t allspice
3 T brown sugar
Assemble ingredients. Combine ingredients in a small bowl, until sugar is dissolved. When loaf is almost done, remove from oven and prick top with fork.  Pour on topping and bake another 10 -15 minutes until lightly browned. Best to let loaf set 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Yield: 6-8 servings
