MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A judge has dismissed additional charges against former Rutherford County Sheriff's detective Ron Killings in the traffic death of a young Kentucky girl.

Killings was found not guilty in February by a jury on reckless homicide charges for fatally-striking 11-year-old Lakeisha White with his squad car in July of 2008.

The additional charges were dismissed Friday by Judge Royce Taylor in a status hearing in Rutherford County.

Taylor threw out charges of evidence tampering and filing a false police report, saying they didn't apply because there was "no criminal episode."

After dismissing the charges, Taylor said what Killings did after the crash was not relevant.

Rutherford County Judge David Bragg recused himself from the case earlier this month. Bragg would not say why he filed the order.
