NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It's been nearly three months since a teenager was gunned down and killed in front of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in North Nashville. Police said they don't have any suspects and are asking for help to solve the case.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on April 8th in front of the Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 2900 block of Clarksville Highway in North Nashville. Police said Rockwell Montanez was confronted by a man who pulled a pistol and fired several shots at him.

"Found the subject inside the restaurant. He'd made it inside the restaurant, and did appear to have one, single gunshot wound to the neck," said Officer Lawrence Brown of the Metro Police Department.

Police said Montanez died on the scene. Investigators including a canine unit gathered evidence and information including a black hoodie worn by the shooter.

"They did track to a location. The south side of the Martin Luther King bridge where the hoodie was recovered, and canine did track to an apartment complex off Ed Temple Boulevard," said Officer Brown.

The hoodie had writing on the back that said "I am the Street Dream." Police also found a handgun at the crime scene.

"At this point we're not aware whether it's the suspect's gun or the victim's gun," added Officer Brown.

Police said they don't have a motive for the killing, but they believe there are other witnesses to the crime.

"The incident occurred during rush hour traffic on Clarksville Pike and we're hoping someone in the community will come forward," Officer Brown said.
