NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A woman looking for her lost dog found the body of Madison man in February. Since then, the case has gone cold. Now, police are hoping someone will step forward to help them find a killer.
The woman found the body on February 22 in a field off Karen Drive in South Nashville. Investigators determined the body was 23-year-old Ricardo Torres.
"Our investigation revealed Mister Torres was in attendance at a party on Karen Drive, a short distance from where his body was found," said Danny Satterfield of the Metro Police department.
Police said Torres was involved in an argument at the party on February 18. He was reported missing by his sister two days later.
Cold case detectives hope someone will remember seeing Torres walking with someone in the field where he was murdered.
"We have received a lot through out this investigation. Several pieces of the puzzle I think we've been able to put together. However, there are probably a couple of pieces of this puzzle that someone out there may have," said Satterfield.
Police said Torres was involved in gang activity and it may have been a factor in his death.
"And we received information that there were members of a gang at that party during the time this incident took place," Satterfield said.
