Man Shot, Killed In Daylight Shooting Outside Home
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot to death three months ago in his South Nashville driveway in broad daylight. Now, police are hoping someone will come forward with answers.
The shooting happened on Friday, April 16, around 4:45 p.m. Miguel Tobias was hosting dinner for friends and family at a home in the 3700 block of Ezell Pike.
"He noticed a gold Chevy Malibu parked in front of his home. He noticed that one of the windows was cracked on the vehicle, so he decided to walk out to the vehicle to see who it was. As he approached the vehicle, someone fired multiple shots out of the vehicle, striking him several times," said Derry Baltimore of the Metro Police Department.
Friends and family called an ambulance. He was rushed to Vanderbilt Hospital where he died.
Detectives found the car used in the shooting, but the identity of the killer and the motive are still unknown.
"The Chevy Malibu that was involved in this shooting was located the next day in the East Nashville area. We were able to talk to the owner of that vehicle and are trying to determine who had the vehicle at the time of the shooting," said Baltimore.
Police are hoping someone can help them identify who was in the car at the time of the shooting. Investigators say it's important to put this person behind bars before someone else is hurt or killed.
"He was shot in front of his family, wife and kids, and friends. They even tried to comfort him with his child's blanket, to try stop the bleeding. A person who would do this type of crime needs to be taken off the street," Baltimore added.
