Vandy Drops `Interim' From Caldwell Title

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt has removed the "interim" from the title of new football coach Robbie Caldwell.

Vanderbilt officials said Monday that Caldwell is the permanent coach and a new contract is being worked out for him.

He was named interim coach July 14 when Bobby Johnson announced his retirement from coaching.

The 56-year-old Caldwell has coached the Vanderbilt offensive line since 2002 and was assistant head coach in recent years under Johnson.
