NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police are searching for the gunman who killed 39-year-old Veronica Bozza inside her home Sunday on New John Hagar Road.
Her body was discovered by her boyfriend around 12:30 p.m. Police said around 11:30 a.m., she dropped off her son with her estranged husband on Thompson Lane.
"The boyfriend said 'She just been shot in the head. I said 'What?'" said next door neighbor Herman Holmes, who was sitting on his back porch with his wife when Bozza was murdered." He asked me did we see anything or hear anything we said 'no.'"
"He fell down on the ground and started crying something," added Holmes.
Officials said the child is fine, and officers have interviewed the estranged husband. Police said the boyfriend and husband have been cooperative.
Police believe Bozza was specifically targeted. Anyone with information on Bozza's murder is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
