Animal Rights Group Promotes Compassion for Murfreesboro Mosque

Posted:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- An animal rights group is now getting involved in the debate over a controversial mosque in Murfreesboro.

The Tennessean reports PETA is asking the Islamic Center for permission to place a sign at the construction site. The sign would feature an image of peas arranged to represent different religious symbols, like the Christian cross, Muslim star and Jewish Star of David.

PETA says the sign is meant to promote compassion and understanding of all religions. There is no word yet on the Islamic Center's opinion of the proposal.
