(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vanderbilt quarterback Larry Smith has had little time to throw this season, let alone sit in the pocket and look for receivers downfield. Coach Robbie Caldwell is willing to shake up his offensive line if necessary to help the offense improve.
Smith finished 8 of 15 for 70 yards. He wound up with minus-23 yards rushing after losing 47 yards on six sacks in the Commodores' 23-7 loss last weekend to No. 15 LSU.
Caldwell said Smith was under duress combined with receivers struggling to get off man coverage from defenders.
The coach said he's sure his Commodores got a little intimidated and hopes to calm them down. After all, the coach said he doesn't know what there is to fear since the defenders can't eat up the Commodores.
