Frances and Jeffrey Spurlock
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The family suing Metro Public Schools over the redistricting plan have gotten their chance to redraw the lines themselves.
Last September, Frances and Jeffrey Spurlock sued saying the school board unfairly rezoned their kids, who are minorities, into lower performing schools.
The school district has denied race was a factor in the rezoning.
Now, a federal judge has ruled the family can submit their own plan.
A hearing to review the plan, along with any revised plan from the school district, has been set for mid-January.
