(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Public service agencies are hoping to prevent more families from losing their homes to foreclosure during an event called Project Homeless Connect.
Families in need of foreclosure assistance are encouraged to come to the Tennessee State Fairground on Wednesday to meet with Tennessee Housing Development Agency representatives and other agencies.
Clifton Harris, executive director of the Key Alliance, an initiative by the Metropolitan Homeless Commission, said it is more cost effective to prevent homelessness by stopping foreclosures.
The event will also provide medical and foot care, legal services, employment assistance, pet care, food, toiletries and more.
