NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Belmont University's decision to part ways with their women's soccer coach sparked controversy on and off campus. Now, Lisa Howe is telling her side of the story.
Last week, Howe's players claimed she was forced out of a job because of her sexual orientation, sparking protests on campus. The University has denied that allegation saying they welcome gay and lesbian students and staff.

Howe is still without a job, but said in the future she'll look to work at a place where she feels more comfortable.
"It was long overdue for me to live my life honestly. And it was long overdue for me to tell my team. I was just sending the wrong message by hiding who I am," Howe told NewsChannel 5.
Howe's departure came just after she told her team that her same-sex partner was pregnant.
Howe spent six seasons coaching at Belmont.
