Tennessee Winter Storm Warning


NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Snowfall is expected across Middle Tennessee late Saturday night, through Sunday night. Some roadways will become impassable by late Sunday night with wind chills dropping as low as zero degrees.

A strong cold front will change rain to a brief period of snow late Saturday night. Accumulations will generally be light; however, on Sunday as an upper level low pressure system crosses the region, more snowfall is expected.

The winter storm warning remains in effect from 4 A.M. Sunday to 6 A.M. There will be a break in precipitation late Saturday night, but more snowfall will return on Sunday along with frigid and blustery conditions.

Accumulations of two to four inches of snow is expected by Monday morning. Slick roads will develop late Saturday night as temperatures plummet into the 20 degree range. Periods of snow through the day on Sunday and into Sunday night will cause very dangerous travel conditions as roadways become snow covered.
