HERMITAGE, Tenn. – Firefighters were called out to battle a 2-alarm fire at the Oakwell Farms Apartment Complex in Hermitage, just three days after another blaze at the same location.

Monday morning crews responded to a fire at the complex, just off Dodson Chapel Road between Interstate 40 and Summit Medical Center.

Firefighters not only fought flames, but very cold conditions with temperatures in the teens. A relief bus was brought in to help crews stay warm.

The building was empty at the time because it caught fire last week and all the residents had been moved.

Twelve units were affected in total. Four were unlivable with the other eight being evaluated. Some suffered smoke and water damage. The second fire caused additional damage.

Restoration crews had moved their equipment into the building, but workers were not on duty Monday morning.

Residents said it was unsettling to see the building catching on fire a second time.

The cause of Monday's fire was under investigation.
