NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Faculty members at Belmont University are demanding the school develop an official policy that would protect gay students, teachers and staff from discrimination.
This comes after soccer coach Lisa Howe resigned after telling the team her same-sex partner is pregnant.
In a closed-door meeting, the faculty senate passed a resolution calling for sexual orientation to be added to the nondiscrimination policy.
This resolution comes even though Belmont's President has insisted Lisa Howe's departure had nothing to do with her sexual orientation.
