Thousands of Homemade Cards Sent To Wounded Soldiers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A woman in Murfreesboro sent more than 13,000 Christmas cards to wounded soldiers this year.

Lea Ann Newton started Operation Christmas Care in 2006.

Each card is unique, covered with bright crayon drawings of Santas, Christmas trees and American flags.

All the cards were mailed out last week.

Newton also started collecting pennies this year to offset the price of mailing each card.
