NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police are asking for help solve a string of three bank robberies in Nashville, two at the same bank. It appears that the same suspect is responsible for all three bank robberies.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1,000 cash for clues.
The first happened on December 6 at SunTrust Bank at 530 Murfreesboro Pike. Police said the suspect approached the teller and implied he had a weapon. He fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash. PHOTOS: Crime Of The Week: December 21, 2010
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's with brown hair and a mustache. He is approximately 5'11" tall and about 170 pounds. In the first robbery he was wearing a green t-shirt, with Ace Building Company written on the front over a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a red and black ball cap with the number 8 on the front.
The second robbery happened on the morning of December 16 at the same bank. Police believe the same suspect approached the teller and indicated he had a weapon
During this robbery, police said he was wearing a brown coat, blue jeans and a black cowboy hat.
Police said the same suspect robbed the Regions Bank on Lebanon Pike the next day, on December 17. He once again went to the teller and made them think he had a weapon.
The description given in this robbery indicates he may be in his late 40's or early 50's with long graying brown hair, that was in a ponytail and he had a beard. He was wearing a black jacket with an orange ‘T' on the front and a red ball cap.
Anyone who recognizes this suspect is urged to contact the Nashville Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. If the information results in the arrest and prosecution, Nashville Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of $1000 cash.
