NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One person was shot inside the crowded Silverado Dance Hall and Saloon on Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville. Police are searching for the gunman.
Police said an argument led to a fight inside the night club around 2 a.m. Monday. Someone pulled out a gun and fired at least one shot. It hit the victim.
The victim was able to drive himself to a local hospital for treatment. Police aren't sure what the men were arguing about.
"When you go into a nightclub, you have to be aware of your surroundings and the people around you," said Captain Kenneth Walburn of the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Silverado's owner told NewsChannel 5 his night club takes safety seriously. He has a team of security officers to protect patrons.
This was not the first time there was a shooting at the saloon. Last January, a bouncer at the club was shot outside the building after a fight escalated. He survived the shooting after being treated at the hospital.
