(AP) KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Offensive lineman Alex Bullard has decided to transfer to Tennessee from Notre Dame and hopes to be eligible right away.
The Knoxville News-Sentinel reported that Bullard opted to transfer from South Bend after his father died last year.
Bullard is seeking a hardship waiver from the NCAA, which, if granted, would make the sophomore eligible to play immediately for the Volunteers.
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly in a statement said Bullard had been released from his scholarship.
