(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vanderbilt forward Lance Goulbourne has been named the Southeastern Conference player of the week.
The 6-foot-7 junior from Brooklyn, N.Y., averaged 14.5 points and 13 rebounds in wins over Mississippi and then-No. 22 Saint Mary's. They were the first double-doubles of his career.
Goulbourne is leading the SEC in rebounding in league play, and he had 16 boards against Ole Miss with 15 points and 10 boards against Saint Mary's.
His 16 rebounds are the most in an SEC game so far this season.
Goulbourne's play helped the Commodores move back into The Associated Press' Top 25 on Monday at No. 19, their highest ranking this season.
