15th Anniversary Of F-14 Crash That Killed 5 In Antioch

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday was a day of solemn remembrance for some folks in the mid-state on the 15th anniversary of a jet crash that killed five people in Antioch.

Navy Lieutenant Commander John Bates crashed an F-14 fighter jet on January 29th, 1996.

The pilot was said to be showing-off when he crashed into homes along Luna Drive, killing himself and four others.

The crash is remembered by the family of Elmer and Ada Newsom, killed in their home.

Neighbors told us a family member leaves a rose at the site of the crash in remembrance each year.
