(AP) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vanderbilt coach James Franklin has completed his staff with the hiring of four assistants, including Bob Shoop as defensive coordinator and Brent Pry as co-defensive coordinator.

Shoop, who also will coach the Commodores' safeties, spent the past four seasons as defensive coordinator at William and Mary, where in 2010 his defense limited opponents to just 16.7 points per game.

Pry will also coach Vanderbilt's linebackers. He spent the past season at Georgia Southern, which limited opponents to 286.9 yards per game.

Also joining the Commodores staff is former Miami assistant Wesley McGriff, who will coach defensive backs and serve as the team's defensive recruiting coordinator. Former Bowling Green assistant Sean Spencer will be in charge of Vandy's defensive line.
