NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two men have been charged with the alleged rape of a 19-year-old girl inside a downtown night club last May.
The incident happened at Graham Central Station during the early morning hours of May 22, 2010.
Police arrested former security guard 28-year-old Antonio Hamm and regular customer 40-year-old Marris Wynne and charged them with aggravated rape.
Police said Hamm approached the woman in the second floor bar after she had become separated from her friends. That's when he allegedly told her she was too intoxicated and he would escort her out. Instead, he is accused of taking her by elevator to the basement where he raped her.
The investigation showed the victim didn't know how to leave the area and Hamm told her he would send someone to take her to her friends. Police said Wynne arrived a short time later and is accused of raping the victim after Hamm left to return to the bar.
Wynne took the victim on the elevator to the main floor where she reunited with her friends. The rape was reported the following day.
Wynne was identified as a suspect through DNA testing. He was arrested on January 17 when he reported to his parole officer, on a grand jury indictment charging him with four counts of aggravated rape.
In 2009, Wynne was convicted of luring a man to a downtown alley where he was robbed by two other men. In 2000, Wynne received four years probation for an aggravated robbery conviction.
Hamm was indicted by the Davidson County grand jury on January 28 and arrested. He is charged with two counts of aggravated rape.
Hamm and Wynne are being held in lieu of $750,000 bond each.
Police said the 19-year-old victim is the only known victim, but detectives have not ruled out the possibility of others. Anyone with information about this matter or any similar offense is urged to contact the Sex Crimes Unit at 862-7540.
Police said Graham Central Station ownership cooperated with detectives and has since hired all new security and management personnel.
