15,000 Pound Food Giveaway In Columbia Saturday

COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Feeding families in need is a priority for Second Harvest Food Bank. That's why they're giving away more than 15,000 pounds of food in Columbia this weekend.

The food will be delivered to Columbia's Highland Park Baptist Church on Saturday morning.

Families interested will first need to get vouchers from the Columbia Housing and Redevelopment Corporation at 201 Dyer Street or Harvest Share Food Pantry at 418 West Ninth Street.

To get the vouchers, applicants will need to provide their family's name, address, home telephone number, social security number, picture identification, and full income verification.

Then, they need to return with the vouchers at 10:30 a.m. Saturday where volunteers will load cars with food until supplies are gone.

Second Harvest and Nashville Family Church teamed up with the Housing Coalition of South Central Tennessee, Highland Park Baptist Church, Harvest Share Food Pantry of Maury County and Kroger to deliver the food.
