Titans Honor Volunteers At Luncheon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans are giving back to a community that puts volunteerism first.

The Titans held their annual Community Quarterback Award luncheon on Friday honoring more than 100 volunteers from across the state.

The Titans Foundation awarded $17,000 in grant money-- $10,000 of that went to the Hickman County Long Term Recovery Committee for their work during the May floods.

"We just went and did it. We opened the shelter up, put people up, we fed folks and it wasn't just me. It wasn't just the Red Cross," said John Blackburn. "There were other volunteers in the community, just individuals that just stepped up and helped."

As of 2000, The Titans Community Award program has given more than $230,000 in grants to local volunteers.
