Investigators Search In Houston Co. In Missing Mother Case


HOUSTON COUNTY, Tenn. - The Hendersonville Police Department are searching an area of Houston County in connection with disappearance of a young mother 8 years ago.

Salena Tackett went missing from her Hendersonville home in January 2003. Her husband, Tyrone, told police Salena just walked out the door and left her 2-year-old child, her purse and a car behind.

Sky 5 HD flew over the crime scene where investigators are searching in Houston County on Wednesday afternoon. There was no word on what exactly they were searching for.

Hendersonville's new police chief, Mickey Miller, recently re-opened her missing persons case.
Hendersonville Re-Opens Missing Mother Cold Case

Detectives have been going through all the evidence, and even placed Salena's information on a billboard in Kentucky.

Salena had been married to Tyrone just one week when she disappeared. The couple's 2-year-old child is now 10 and is living in Florida with her dad.

Salena also has a son from a previous relationship who is now a teenager and living in Kentucky.
