Man Critically Injured In Plant Explosion In Kentucky

BURKESVILLE, Ky. - A man working at a metal fabrication plant in Kentucky is in critical condition after an explosion left him with serious head trauma.

Authorities said the accident happened Wednesday afternoon at Premium Air Systems in downtown Burkesville, Kentucky.

31-year-old Michael Bowen was cutting the end off a 55 gallon drum with a torch when paint thinner fumes ignited, blasting the drum into his face.

The explosion was so powerful it knocked out all the windows of the business. 

Bowens was hospitalized at the University of Kentucky Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition.
