NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A huge weekend of activities in downtown Nashville kicked off Friday with the SEC women's basketball tournament. Sports fans as well as vacationers have flooded the area looking to have a good time.
The tournament kicked off day two on Friday morning at Bridgestone Arena. The University of Tennessee Women's basketball team beat the Florida Gators.
Lady Vols fans are certainly having a good time as the sea of orange took over downtown Nashville.
The Bridgestone arena was rocking as fans for the Vols and the Gators rooted for their respective teams.
This time of year is always great for basketball fans, especially Lady Vols fans.
The team is playing great this year and came away with a big win. Now, UT fans are ready to party the night away.
"We're going to do the tourist thing and some souvenir shopping and eat and we're staying in the hotel with the Lady Vols, so we're going to ride the elevator a lot," said fan Donna Branton.
Kentucky beat LSU women's team on Friday afternoon. Vanderbilt women's team is set to play Mississippi State at 9 p.m. Friday.
Plenty of fans are also heading over to the Municipal Auditorium for the OVC tournament.
