Man Arrested After Firing Shots At Girlfriend

BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. - A Bedford County man was arrested for allegedly forcing his ex-girlfriend to drive at gunpoint. He also shot at her several times when she tried to escape.

The Daily News Journal reported Christopher Locke was arrested on Sunday.

Police said Locke kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, 37-year old Zerene Mayes, and forced her to drive him from Murfreesboro to Bedford County.

At some point during the trip, police said she slowed the car down and jumped out. Locke fired eight shots and took off in the car.

Locke is charged with attempted first degree murder and eight counts of reckless endangerment.
