NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - James Franklin has been looking at his new Vanderbilt team on film. Now, finally, Vanderbilt's new coach gets to look at his team actually play some football.
Vanderbilt starts with a team meeting Thursday with the first spring practice scheduled for Friday. Franklin said Wednesday he's excited to take this next step.
Franklin has been hearing good reports from his strength coach about the Commodores 5:30 a.m. sessions twice a week. Franklin also even hopes to wrap up spring practice with an actual game at the Black and Gold game.
Vanderbilt really hasn't had a spring game in years because of depth issues and injuries.
Franklin has been busy filling up his coaching staff and recruiting since being hired in December.
