MADISON, Tenn. – Police located the victim's car in the Monday night carjacking and murder of 23-year-old Jose Moya. An officer located it at the end of Edenwold Road off Gallatin Pike in Madison.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle, and they attempted to set it on fire. The car is being processed for evidence.

Police are continuing to look for the two suspects. The attack happened around 8 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Lovell Street in Madison.

Police said Moya was carjacked by two suspects in front of Stella Pipkin's home. Moya fell to the pavement at the end of Pipkin's driveway.

Pipkin heard the shooting, and she said there were three shots.

It was pop, pop, pop. One quick one and two by each. He didn't turn around," Pipkin said.

Pipkin and her neighbors called 911 and tried to help him.

"I said 'can you talk?' He said 'yeah'. He said he was 23. And that they had taken his wallet and his keys. And police came up and said they'd taken his car," Pipkin added.

Investigators are not sure if it was a random attack. Police do not yet known why Moya was on Lovell Street because he lives in Hermitage.

Moya was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died in surgery.

His brother and sister say everyone loved him and he will be missed.

Police say this could be a tough case to crack. They are hoping the killers were sloppy and left something behind in Moya's car

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
