Commissioner Resigns After Arrest On Felony Charges

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. - A Robertson County commissioner has submitted his resignation after his arrest on felony theft charges.

TBI agents arrested Edward "Shannon" Polen last week for allegedly scamming thousands of dollars.

Robertson County's mayor said he has received Polen's written and signed resignation from the county commission.

According to affidavits, Polen is accused of scamming a Davidson County man out of some $380,000 with the promise of an investment in farm equipment.
County Commissioner Arrested For Investment Scam

Polen is also the subject of several civil lawsuits, with people claiming to be victims of an alleged Ponzi scheme.
