NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Opry Mills is still in the middle of a huge lawsuit with its insurers over May's historic flood but owners continue to move forward.
A permit for repair work was issued on Thursday. It's the first since mall owners announced earlier this month about plans to re-open next spring.
The $750,000 permit will pay for demolition of some tenant spaces and common areas and to renovate areas typically off limits to the public.
The mall suffered some $200 million in damage in May. Insurers only agreed to pay $50 million.
The trial over money is expected to begin next February.
