NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Paramedics rushed a firefighter to the hospital after he was hit by a live electrical wire. He was battling a house fire on Corning Drive in South Nashville when an electrical line fell down on top of him.
The firefighter suffered minor burns and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Crews found flames shooting from the roof when they arrived at the home on the corner of Corning Drive and Welshwood Drive early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters went inside to make sure nobody was trapped in the home. As a firefighter was walking around the smoke filled home, he came into contact with the electrical line.
It appears nobody was in the home. There was a car in the back, but the windows were boarded up. Firefighters are trying to contact with the property owner.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
