NASHVILLE, Tenn.- If you live in Metro Nashville and heard a knock on your door Saturday, it may have had something to do with the state fairgrounds.

Metro Councilman Jamie Hollin is behind the effort to add a referendum to this summer's election, so he's looking for your signature.

This amendment would guarantee that no demolition to the state fairground would happen without 27 votes from the Metro Council.

"We've already hit three hundred doors today, and it's 1:30.  We got the rest of the week, and next weekend, too," said Jamie Hollin, metro Councilman.

Hollin needs 16,000 signatures for the issue to be put on the ballot.
