(AP) BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Florida catcher Mike Zunino is the Southeastern Conference baseball player of the year and Vanderbilt's Grayson Garvin is the top pitcher.

SEC coaches picked Vandy outfielder Tony Kemp as freshman of the year in balloting released Tuesday.

South Carolina's Ray Tanner was picked as coach of the year. James McCann of Arkansas is the SEC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Tanner's Gamecocks earned the top seed in the SEC tournament beginning Wednesday in Hoover. They finished in a three-way tie atop the East Division.

The Commodores also finished tied for first in the SEC East and are the tournament's No. 4 seed. Vanderbilt will host Georgia on Wednesday at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala.
